Walk around the Chevin. Spa maybe?
The Chevin is the name of the ridge overlooking Otley. It’s covered in a thick forest of huge trees and filled with loads of wildlife. You could spend all day wandering around and you still wouldn’t see it all!

Boating along the river.
The river wharfe runs straight through Otley and during the summer season you can rent boats to row up and down the river.
It is £5 for adults and £3 for children, the button below will take you to their Facebook page so you can check if they are open.

Wild swimming.
The river wharfe is reknown for being oone of the cleanest rivers in England. Just up the road, Ilkley was declared a safe river to swim in.
Otley doesn’t have the same certificate however the river is safe to swim in and hundreds of people do each year. The website below has more information for you to read.

Visit Brimham rocks.
Brimham rocks is a beautiful landscape and countryside walking area. It is also a great place to go climbing. The car park costs £9 for the day unless you are a national trust member then it’s free.
Definitely a place to check out if you get the chance, it takes around 30 minutes to drive from Toms Pond and the drive is also beautiful.

Lots of parks.
Otley is home to loads of parks to walk around. Wharfemeadows, tittybottle and the Chevin are three that come to mind but there are a few more.
Wharfemeadows park has a huge play area with some slides, lots of swings and even a water feature! It is about a 10 minute walk from Tom’s Pond.

Surrounding towns.
If you run out of things to do in Otley, there are loads of towns close by to see. Ilkley is just a 15 minute drive away or a 25 minute bus.
Harrogate is also very close, around a 20 minute drive or a 30 minute bus ride.
